Simian Mobile Disco Announces Fall Tour in Support of “Attack Sustain Decay Release”
Superstar UK dance act Simian Mobile Disco is embarking on a fall tour starting September 14th in Boston in support of its upcoming album Attack Sustain Decay Release (out 9/11 on Interscope). “With their acid keyboard squelches and jack-hammer bass, Simian Mobile Disco commands the club. They set their gear in the center of the stage, jumping all over the place as they play each song, manipulating the sounds in the patch bay, and turning each tune into something completely new for the live setting. Surrounded by one very enthralling light show, Ford and Shaw not only keep your feet moving, but absolutely dare your eyes to look at anything other than their antics on stage.” Sounds like a party to us! In fact, we’ve got our dancing shoes on right now!

SIMIAN MOBILE DISCO ANNOUNCES FALL TOUR!!
After two unbelievable packed shows on the east coast this summer,
London’s Simian Mobile Disco are thrilled to announce their highly
anticipated return to America this fall, hitting cities across the
country with their signature brand of analogue synth madness. Playing
tons of tracks off of their forthcoming debut, Attack Sustain Decay
Release, out September 11th on Interscope Records, the Simian Mobile
Disco live experience is one that should absolutely not be missed.
If you’ve been to any halfway decent party in the last couple years,
then there is no doubt that Simian Mobile Disco has been a part of it.
If you’ve paid attention to anything that makes you dance just like a
DJ’s saved your life over the last couple years, then you know Simian
Mobile Disco already. Initially, Simian Mobile Disco, made up of James
Ford and Jas Shaw, were part of a band called Simian, whose debut
garnered them some smashing critical acclaim both in America and their
native England. But like all good things, the band imploded while
touring America one summer, and Simian Mobile Disco, the name both Shaw
and Ford gave to themselves when they’d dj parties after Simian gigs on
tour, rose from the ashes to rapturous response. Their songs are made
solely using analog synthesizers and vintage drum machines, creating
their amazing debut, Attack Decay Sustain Release, entirely by hand, a
feat for any electronic record created in 2007. This is about as DIY
as it gets.
With their acid keyboard squelches and jack-hammer bass, Simian Mobile
Disco commands the club. They set their gear in the center of the
stage, jumping all over the place as they play each song, manipulating
the sounds in the patch bay, and turning each tune into something
completely new for the live setting. Surrounded by one very
enthralling light show, Ford and Shaw not only keep your feet moving,
but absolutely dare your eyes to look at anything other than their
antics on stage. It’s certainly the most exciting live electronic
music we’ve ever seen…..
Additionally, the two men of Simian Mobile Disco have had a few things
to celebrate as of late: SMD’s James Ford has seen his production work
on Arctic Monkeys’ Favourite Worst Nightmare and The Klaxons’ Myths of
the Near Future garner both records nominations for the UK’s
prestigious Mercury Prize. Simian Mobile Disco also just completed an
amazing remix for Bjork, transforming the song “Innocence” from her
most recent album, Volta. And lastly, Simian Mobile Disco recently
released an amazing EP, simply entitled Simian Mobile Disco EP,
featuring Attack Decay Sustain Release’s “Tits and Acid,” in addition
to three exclusive b-sides – “Simple,” “Pin Din,” and “State of
Things.”
