Another day, another Blur reunion rumor. They all seem to sound the same, don’t they? Graham Coxon’s back in the fold blah blah blah. Damon Albarn is finished with Gorillaz and tribal music-making in Mali, and looking for something else to do while away from Noodle and Murdoc. Leave it to NME to make a regularly-scheduled manic Monday a little brighter with what I believe to be the most concrete and exciting coverage of a Blur reunion yet…

“Speaking to NME.COM, Blur bassist Alex James explained that the band are all in touch again and plan to record together – with the aim of making an album – in the near future. “It’s going to happen soon,” James explained, speaking of imminent recording sessions. “It’s looking promising. “It’s important for us emotionally not to leave Blur as an unfinished thing. It could be good musically as well.”

Coxon left the band in 2002 to pursue a solo career. Stay tuned.
