Several years ago, at the height of their buzz, The Vines had to take a hiatus due to lead singer Craig Nicholls’ increasingly erratic behavior that confounded live audiences and journalists alike. Now with proper treatment for Asperger’s Syndrome (a form of autism), and plenty of downtime at home (we hope!), Nicholls and The Vines are now ready to resume their rock star life. The Aussies are currently recording their next album in Los Angeles with producer Rob Schnapf (who also worked on the band’s debut, Highly Evolved), due to bow this Spring (label TBA). Look for several Vines dates in the US in March — March 14th at SXSW at Pangaea, March 17th at New York’s Bowery Ballroom, and March 19th at the Troubadour in LA.
