As fans awake to the start of a new Radiohead tour kicking off today at the Cruzan Amphitheatre in West Palm Beach, Florida, the band is asking ticketholders to rethink their transportation to and from shows, suggesting public transportation and carpools when available and/or possible. The band’s official website (Radiohead.com) now hosts an online calculator so that fans can compare the CO2 emissions generated from each type of transport. Once the tour wraps in August, the band will ask fans to “submit information on their methods of travel so further research can be done on carbon emissions and methods to reduce them.”

Radiohead’s crew is also in on the fun, as the production team will begin posting information on how the band seeks to reduce its own CO2 emissions “without compromising the quality of the shows.”
