In hindsight, this dream pairing blurs the line between obviousness and haven’t-they-already? territory, but this summer, Beck and Danger Mouse will release the result of their collaborative efforts. Last December, the duo finally nailed down studio time together, and after several months of mixing their kindred muses, 10 songs came out of it. Mooted to be “a tightly assembled group of songs that range in lyrical tone from introspection and social commentary to off the cuff wordplay and lighthearted humor,” the as-yet-untitled album clocks in at just “a little over 30 minutes.”

In tour news, Beck will play his largest hometown headlining show to date on September 20, when he, Spoon and MGMT take over the Hollywood Bowl. Tickets go on sale May 10. Sets at the Austin City Limits, Outside Lands and Bumbershoot festivals are also confirmed at press time.
