Two years ago, it seemed that “Chasing Cars” couldn’t, and wouldn’t go away. Not that we wanted it to, per se, but the band behind the monster hit ballad became painted into a corner they didn’t deserve (ahem, Adult Contemporary), even though the wide reception and massive success of their multi-platinum 2006 LP Eyes Open was a long time coming (and deserved) for the Glasgow-based Snow Patrol. And after spending the summer at famed Hansa Studios in Berlin (see legendary works by David Bowie and U2) and in the Irish countryside with producer Garret “Jacknife” Lee, Snow Patrol is back with their fifth record, A Hundred Million Suns on October 28, via Polydor/Fiction/Geffen Records. “Take Back the City” will be the first single and video from the album.

Gary Lightbody (vocals/guitars) says, “I’m so proud of this record. Everybody played out of their skin. Garret (Jacknife Lee) continued his progression from maverick genius to one of the best producers in the world. Musically, lyrically and sonically the best record we’ve made.”
