They’re a band that’s always been one of our top guilty pleasures and they’re back with a bright, new vengeance, with a new U.S. and Canadian release this June 9th on Vagrant Records. Placebo’s sixth studio album, Battle For The Sun, is the band’s first outing with new drummer Steve Forrest, and is a follow-up to 2006′s Meds. It was recorded in just three months with producer Dave Bottrill (Tool) and mixed later in London by none other than Alan Moulder (MBV, Smashing Pumpkins, Nine Inch Nails). Prepare to hear Placebo’s most optimistic, powerful album in years.
“For What’s It’s Worth”, the debut single from the album, is currently in rotation at Modern Rock stations nationwide and the new video is posted here.
To support the album release in Europe and the UK, Placebo will play a series of exclusive launch events in Brussels, Cologne and Paris, followed by headline festival appearances across Europe throughout the summer.
