The land of Vikings, Odd Nerdrum, midnight sun, and music festivals, oh yeah! The final lineup for Norway’s Øya 2009, set in some of Oslo’s exquisite hills rising out of the Fjords (and just a short walk from the city center), has been announced, and will feature bands such as Fever Ray, Wilco, Grizzly Bear, Chairlift, Beach House, Arctic Monkeys, Band of Horses, Jenny Lewis, Crystal Antlers, Dirty Projectors, and so many more (final listing below). ABOUT PAST ØYA FESTIVALS:
-With 70.000 people in 2008, we had no arrests! 3 wasp bites
was the worst that happened (same for the last 10 years actually)
- We were the first Scandinavian festival boasting 100% ecological food
- The largest outdoor music festival in Oslo, the capital of Norway
- More than 1700 volunteers working for the festival
- We are the most environmentally friendly festival in Norway, and hold
seminars in London, at SXSW etc… about this important issue.
-We have been sold out in advance since 2002!
