They made noise in 2004 with the “An Evening With: Bright Eyes, Jim James and M. Ward” tour, but on September 22nd, Monsters of Folk — an, ahem, supergroup comprised of Conor Oberst, Mike Mogis, My Morning Jacket’s James (or, perhaps Yim Yames) and She & Him’s Ward — will finally release a full-length album, recorded over two years and produced by Mogis. Said to be “as stunning and storied as you would expect it to be,” get a taste now by visiting the band’s official site to download a free MP3 of “Say Please.” (Simply type the word “please” into the request form.)
Monsters of Folk will be released via Shangri-La Music.
