In all honesty, we never really succeeded in getting “Halah” off of 1990′s She Hangs Brightly out of our heads. Ditto for the big hit, “Fade Into You,” and, while we’re thinking about it, her collaboration with the Jesus & Mary Chain on “Sometimes Always” as well. So for those who have longed to hear the sweetness of Hope Sandoval’s voice, you’re in luck. The new record will see her re-team with My Bloody Valentine’s Colm O’Ciosoig and the Warm Inventions, on Through The Devil Softly, to be released on September 15 via Nettwerk Records.

Enthusiasts will note that this is not the first time Sandoval has released music with the Warm Inventions and Colm O’Ciosoig; their debut as a group was in fact on 2001′s Bavarian Fruit Bread. If you are jonesing for some semi-new Mazzy Star tracks, an EP, Mazzy Star: Deep Cuts was released on iTunes in June. Sandoval’s official website also notes that work on Mazzy Star’s fourth record with musical partner David Roback is still on-going. They are said to be “almost finished.”

A fall North American tour is in the works, and dates in the UK and Europe are also TK.

Through The Devil Softly‘s full tracklisting is below. “Blanchard” will be the first single (out August 4th), which you can sample here, now.
