Depending upon how you feel about the Dead Weather, you may or may not want to hasten the return of Jack White’s other other band, the White Stripes. While news is scarce on when we can expect the grand return of Jack and Meg as an active recording and touring band, our favorite “brother and sister” from Detroit will see the premiere of their documentary, The White Stripes: Under Great White Northern Lights, on September 18th at the Toronto Film Festival.

Helmed by Emmett Malloy who followed Jack and Meg (on stage and off) during their audacious whirlwind tour of Icky Thump across the provinces and territories of Canada, Under Great White Northern Lights is said to capture “striking live footage and poignant off-stage moments,” and will be a grand celebration of the band’s remarkable 10-year history.

A brief trailer can be found at the official Stripes’ website, (which looks to be unused footage from the “You Don’t Know What Love Is” music video) as well as information on the film and a stills gallery.
