Dark-synth kings Depeche Mode are set to kick off the North American leg of their “Tour of the Universe” this Friday with a sold-out performance at the Molson Amphitheatre in Toronto. Spanning 22 dates, the “Tour of the Universe” is in support of the band’s most recent release, Sounds of the Universe, which debuted at Number 3 on the Billboard 200 chart back in April.
Full tour itinerary below, including a headlining appearance at Lollapalooza on August 7 in Chicago, a two-night stint at the Hollywood Bowl, and a stop at the historic Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Denver, Colorado. The tour wraps September 5 at the Bank Atlantic Center in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
Peter Bjorn and John will open all dates on the trek. Depeche Mode’s last major tour of North America was for 2005′s Playing the Angel.

Sorry, but why the discrimination? Or it is ignorance? Mexico (just in the south of the USA, with 3,000 km of borderline) is NORTHAMERICA also and we have “only” 4 dates of the tour in a row beggining oct 1st.
We are Latin AND North America, but we do not call you Imperial or Anglo America, or do we?

Comment by SnappedPillow on 24 July 2009:
@Martin, when are the Mexico dates?
[Reply]
Comment by carrie on 24 July 2009:
Martin,
We were not provided with the Mexico tour dates in the press release, hence the omission. No other reason.
