Well, the Dead Weather couldn’t rule the entire summer as the only group with big buzz and that whole crazy “supergroup” sheen. Sure enough, Them Crooked Vultures came along, grabbing headlines with so-amazing-it’s-scary reception of their festival appearances, and a debut record slotted for release sometime this autumn.  This of course, is that band with some folks you’ve probably heard of if you’ve heard music in the last half century: Dave Grohl of Foo Fighters on drums, Josh Homme of Queens of the Stone Age on lead guitar and John Paul Jones of Led Zeppelin on bass and keyboards.

The Vultures have only played one show in the US since their inception (August 9th in Chicago), but today finally confirmed a brief North American jaunt kicking off October 2 as part of the Austin City Limits festival, before moving on to stops in Nashville, Detroit, Boston and Toronto among other big cities.

Tickets for each headline show go on-sale Saturday, September 5 at 10 a.m. local time. For further information on Them Crooked Vultures and the upcoming tour, please visit the band’s official website.
