Just before touching down for eagerly anticipated sets at the 2009 CMJ Music Marathon and Film Festival, Atlas Sound and Broadcast will launch a co-headlining tour on October 15th in Atlanta, Georgia.

The trek is especially notable for both bands, as the Bradford Cox-fronted Atlas Sound is set to release its sophomore effort, Logos, on October 20th via Kranky. Described by Cox as having a more “panoramic view” versus the group’s “introverted” debut, each of the songs on Logos were recorded in one take, and feature Animal Collective’s Noah Lennox and Stereolab’s Laetitia Sadier. Broadcast will also be touring in support of new material, Broadcast and the Focus Group Investigate Witch Cults of the Radio Age (available now on iTunes, and retail later this month). This is to be the Birmingham, England band’s first North American tour since 2005.

The Selmanaires have been picked for opening duties on all dates. Do be sure to get to the venue on time each night, as both bands will be rotating their set times.
