Since their first Mercury-nominated release, Felt Mountain, we’ve followed Goldfrapp’s every note, so we are head over heels to hear that their latest album, Head First , will be released through Mute on March 23rd, 2010, with new single “Rocket” to precede it on March 9th, 2010.
Head First is said to be Goldfrapp’s “most powerful trip to date, a speedy rush of synth optimism, euphoria, fantasy and romance”. To ring in the new year, Alison Goldfrapp and Will Gregory will give us a taste of affirming lyrics and their always top-notch production, taking us to new heights for 2010.
This is the duo’s fifth album, and was written and recorded by the pair throughout 2009 in Bath and London. Before starting on these latest songs, the pair completed the soundtrack for “Nowhere Boy”, the first film to be directed by photographer Sam Taylor-Wood.
Goldfrapp will take Head First on tour later in 2010, and surely will once again cement their reputation as one of the most sublime and artistically exciting live bands around.
