The staff of the The Harvard Lampoon, “the world’s oldest humor magazine” has chosen electro-minx Peaches to be an Honorary Member of The Harvard Lampoon, and are set to honor the former school teacher known to her family as Merrill Nisker at their Annual Canadian Synthpunk/Glam Rock Awards Dinner tomorrow night. Famous for her insta-classic jams “F**k the Pain Away” and “Operate,” Peaches has dominated the electroclash field since the 2000 release of The Teaches of Peaches, with her indelible, hyper-sexual, skiddle-diddling lyrics, addictive beats and outrageous live shows. It’s sleaze to please, like “sex on the beaches.”
The Berlin-based Peaches joins a steller group of previous honorees such as comedic actor Robin Williams, western legend John Wayne and Godfather of Soul, James Brown. Her latest effort, I Feel Cream, was released back in May, and debuted at #1 on the iTunes electronic chart.
