Iggy Pop has joined the already packed and rather extraordinary roster at the 20th annual Tibet House US benefit concert taking place at New York’s famed Carnegie Hall on February 26. The irrepressible punk icon shares the bill with previously announced performers presented by artistic director Philip Glass: Regina Spektor, Patti Smith, Jesse Smith with Michael Campbell, Gypsy-punk superstar Gogol Bordello, Senegal’s Baaba Maal and songwriter/composer Pierce Turner. Tickets are on sale now for $35 to $85 via the Carnegie Charge line at 212.247.7800 or at the Carnegie Hall Box Office located at 57th Street and Seventh Avenue in Manhattan.

The non-profit Tibet House US was founded in 1987 at the behest of the Dalai Lama in an effort to preserve and accurately depict Tibetan culture to the world, and extend proceeds to various charities. The recipients for the 2010 Tibet House US beneft concert are, at press time, the local Tibetan group, Tibetan Community of New York and New Jersey, with others to be confirmed.
