2 Tone ska legends and major No Doubt and Bosstones influence The Specials have set a very quick North American tour in April in support of their upcoming 30th anniversary live DVD set, due March 1, 2010. The proceedings will kick off with an appearance on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon on April 13, marking the first time the band has appeared on US television since their performance on Saturday Night Live in April 1980. The band is also set for a historic performance at Coachella on April 16.

The live DVD was filmed on November 10, 2009 at the Wolverhampton Civic Hall, during the Specials’ recent sold-out extended tour of the UK. Directed by Lindy Heymann, the DVD will feature classic jams such as “Too Much Too Young,” “Do the Dog” and “Gangsters,” along with backstage footage, rehearsals and fan interviews. Skanking in the crowd arguably included.
