Ultra cool, psyched-up (and out) Philly quartet Drink Up Buttercup are set to release their debut effort, Born and Thrown on a Hook on March 23, 2010, via Yep Roc. Calling to mind the harmonies of The Polyphonic Spree and the joy of bouncing around in a field of daisies to “Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds,”  album track “Doggy Head” is enough to give you a love hangover and convince you that a ragged-out VW bus is waiting for you in the driveway.

Produced by Bill Moriarty (known for his work with Dr. Dog and Man Man) and mixed by Rusty Santos (no stranger to Animal Collective fans), Born and Thrown on a Hook might just be the album to beat when the earth warms up and the clothes come off. After all, festival season awaits.

Leading up to the release of the album on March 23rd, the band will debut live videos for each song on Born and Thrown on their official website at http://www.drinkupbuttercup.com.
