With the IRS issues sorted out that forced the cancellation of Echo & the Bunnymen’s previously scheduled North American trek, the post-punk masters are now set to hit the road starting April 16 at Coachella in support of their superb November 2009 release, The Fountain.

“A vital, vibrant, breath of fresh air” full of “magnificently anthemic tracks that already sound like classics,” The Fountain is a confident return to form for Ian McCulloch and longtime bandmate Will Sergeant. If the Bunnymen’s triumphant set at New York’s Mercury Lounge back in October is any indication of the fireworks to come, fans can look forward to going mental over classic hits such as “The Cutter,” “Killing Moon,” “Bring on the Dancing Horses,” “Seven Seas” and newer Fountain tracks such as “Think I Need It Too,” and “Forgotten Fields.”
