Montreal’s jaunty rock orchestra, the Arcade Fire, has announced their first confirmed summer date, to take place at Ireland’s Oxegen Festival, July 8-11, 2010.  It will be the band’s first show in two years.  They last played a special set for Barack Obama’s inauguration in January 2009, which included a cover of the ever-popular Bruce Springsteen tune, “Born in the U.S.A”.

Their upcoming album, as yet untitled, will be released in late summer, with a single to precede it in the next few months.  It is being produced by Markus Dravs, who also did their previous album, the highly-acclaimed Neon Bible.
