Setting out on September 9th at the vast Brooklyn Bowl in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, the trio known as School of Seven Bells will begin their headlining trek throughout the US and Canada, to finish in Philadelphia on October 22nd.  Opening on all dates is electronica-harp playing Active Child.

The band will be touring in support of their July 13th release, Disconnect from Desire, coming out on Vagrant Records/Ghostly International.  The album, produced by band member Benjamin Curtis and mixed by Jack Joseph Puig, was recorded in the confines of the band’s home studio and mixed in Los Angeles at Ocean Way Recording. The album is a glowing, multi-layered step forward for the band musically, with an evolved sound that’s grown partly as the result of their constant touring in 2009. The band has lept out of their protective shell and discovered a newfound, solid connection to their audience and to the external world.

School of Seven Bells, made up of Benjamin Curtis (formerly of Secret Machines) and twins Alejandra and Claudia Deheza, (formerly of  On!Air!Library!) released their intricate and ethereal debut album Alpinisms in 2008.  The band has since toured with Blonde Redhead and Bat For Lashes, among others.
