carlbarat

London’s savvy Carl Barat has used the many months of his “self-imposed, post Dirty Pretty Things exile” wisely, buckling down to get studious.  He’s gone and accomplished what any smart, semi-retired, once famous (still famous), musician with a bit of college acting background should do.

Barat has just announced that not only will he have a solo album due out in October, but he’s writing a book of memoirs, done some tunes for Russell Brand’s “Get Him to the Greek” and gotten in some camera time and close ups for his friend Mark Donne’s new film called “The Rime Of The Modern Mariner” (a mod take on the lengthy Coleridge poem perhaps?).

Better yet, this summer he’s got those reunion festival gigs with The Libertines and come this fall, he’ll be touring across the UK and Europe to promote his solo album.  Dates are below.
