Gorillaz will take off on their “Escape To Plastic Beach” tour of North America with 20 shows starting October 3 at Montreal’s Bell Centre, which will also include their first Madison Square Garden, NYC appearance on October 8.  The band’s Plastic Beach album was released on March 9th in the U.S., selling more than 112,000 copies in its first week and entering the U.S. album chart at #2, just more proof of the fact that everything Damon Albarn touches turns to gold.

The official Gorillaz fanclub, the Sub-Division, will host a 48 hour pre-sale for tickets before the general sale begins. To join Sub-Division go to www.gorillaz.com/subdivision

Gorillaz co-creators Damon Albarn and Jamie Hewlett’s new live show will be sure to encompass material from all three multi-platinum Gorillaz albums, as they had treated fans at Coachella to back in April.  The band, featuring Albarn, Mick Jones and Paul Simonon of The Clash, Bobby Womack, Little Dragon, Bootie Brown, UK Hip Hop stars Kano and Bashy and others as well as video animation, artwork, film and stage design by Hewlett, will be sure to be the show of shows.
