Bob Moog started a revolution in 1964 upon introducing the first Moog synthesizer.  MoogFest 2010, Oct. 29 – 31st, 2010, celebrates his innovation with the ultimate festival of electronic acts.  Current synth pioneers such as Big Boi, Jonsi, and Caribou have just been announced as joining Massive Attack, Thievery Corporation, and MGMT, among many TBA for this Halloween weekend event in the scenic mountains of Asheville, NC.  The full lineup will be announced August 10th, and tickets on sale Friday the 13th.

Why Asheville, you ask?  It’s the headquarters of Moog Music, the company Bob Moog started in 1963.  In 2008, they produced the groundbreaking Moog Guitar and more projects are currently in development.  2010 marks a landmark in the company’s history as the 40th anniversary of the Voyager, one of the most popular of the Moog synthesizers, which will certainly be a focus of the MoogFest weekend.
