Dead Leaf Echo released a new album, Truth (2&1 Records) on Tuesday, along with a new single, “Half-Truth.” Mixed by the legendary John Fryer of 4AD fame (Cocteau Twins and Clan of Xymox), Truth is the third album from the Brooklyn-based dream-pop outfit, lead by singer/guitarist LG Galleon.  The breezy, atmospheric songs bare a trace of shoegaze and hint at the influence of earlier 4AD bands, including the Cocteau Twins, Pale Saints and early Lush.  Intricate, swirling guitar melodies and ethereal vocals figure prominently.

“Half-Truth” is being released as a limited edition 7” single with a non-album b-side, “Babyeyes,” and the first 100 copies will be numbered and have unique hand-screened covers.

The band marked both releases with the premiere of the video for “Half-Truth” on Culture of Me: http://thecultureofme.com/2010/10/video-dead-leaf-echo-half-truth.html
