Richard Ashcroft, the enigmatic UK legend, best known as the leader of The Verve, has signed with Razor & Tie. They will release his latest 12-song solo effort, The United Nations Of Sound, in the US on March 8, 2011. The monumental album, influenced by a span of international sounds and which includes live orchestration and big beats, was produced by noted hip-hop producer No I.D. (known for his work with Kanye West, Jay-Z and Common).

Some songs from The United Nations of Sound are already finding worldwide exposure through television and film placements, with the anthemic lead track “Are You Ready?” featured in Volkswagen’s new Jetta ad campaign and in promos for the 2010 FIFA World Cup Finals as well as in current FOX broadcasts of Major League Baseball’s postseason games including the opening of the World Series. Richard will take on his first solo tour of the U.S. in six years in 2011 to support the new album
