Quiet as a creeping church mouse and while the rest of the music-loving world was tittering about Arcade Fire’s monumental win, Radiohead announced late last night that they intend to digitally release their eighth studio album, The King of Limbs, on Saturday, February 19th, with the retail version to follow on March 28th.

Produced by Nigel Godrich (OK Computer, Amnesiac, Hail to the Thief, In Rainbows), The King of Limbs is now available for pre-order through the band’s official website in two distinct forms: a digital download (MP3 priced at $9 or WAV at $14), or its elaborate ”Newspaper” version, including two 10″ vinyl records, a CD, “many large sheets of artwork, 625 tiny pieces of artwork and a full-colour piece of oxo-degradeable plastic to hold it all together,” and markedly more expensive pricing for its bundled MP3 ($48) and WAV  ($53) files (this is not a pay-what-you-wish scenario!) all to be shipped on May 9th.
