Last we saw of Jason ‘Spaceman’ Pierce and Spiritualized, he was perched on a chair at New York City’s Radio City Music Hall in July 2010 bringing the pain with a choir-augmented full outing of 1997′s landmark album Ladies and Gentlemen We’re Floating in Space for the very last time. Despite his serious demeanor, the creative well continues to flow for Pierce, as today comes the news that Spiritualized have signed to Mississippi-based Fat Possum Records for the as-yet-untitled release of the group’s seventh studio album, due sometime in Fall 2011.

The new album will be the follow-up to 2008′s critically acclaimed, Songs in A&E.

In other news, Pierce has also confirmed a live date at London’s venerable Royal Albert Hall on October 11th, 2011. Tickets go on-sale Friday, March 11th at 9am.
