The gorgeous OG mermaids of CocoRosie (I haven’t heard from them in ages!) release the art for their single (double), We are on Fire, the B-side of which features “Tearz for Animals.” They continue to be the only band working that can seriously use the word “tearz” and still have my undying respect. The album art, perhaps a nod to the predicted drought in NY this summer, features gothic script and a blurry face hidden by a hijab. Their ever-dry rasp will keep you glued, wishing you had the protection of Tupac’s veil and probably a glass of water.
From the presser: The “We Are On Fire” artwork marks the first collaboration between artist Jesse Hazelip and Bianca (aka Twin Rivers). The “Tearz For Animals” art work came from a prison exchange project; drawings from the inside, between friends, as a means to hope.
