Who knew Blacksburg, VA could inspire such beguilingly steamy sounds? Outlands, the Virginia-based dark disco duo, who go by first names Mark and Melissa, Outlands is about to release their self-produced and self-titled EP, which first sold out as a limited cassette release on ChillMegaChill Records. As precursor, they’ve enlisted the remixing prowess of a few special guests such as Sacred Animals, LUST, Dreams West, and Heatstroke. Outlands are ChillMegaChill label mates of Mirror Kisses, and have just finished a brief tour with the band. Check out their reworking of Outlands’ single “Com Ocean” below. Their 6-song EP will be digitally self-released on October 8, 2012 and available as a download in mid-September.
