Daffy’s may be going out of business, and September’s Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week may be coming to a close, but Williamsburg Fashion Weekend is going strong, so put your best party dress and face paint on and prepare yourself for back to back evenings of extreme fashion and performance. Now in its eleventh season, the bi-annual event, founded in 2006 by the enterprising designer/artist/personality Arthur Arbit, will be showcasing 15 independent designers during its two-night stint at Windmill Studios in Williamsburg on September 14th and 15th. The weekend has become so officially big that it’s now even got its own magazine, stunning both in print and online.

We’ve been fans of lines from the likes of Marcus Hicks/SDN and Ruffeo Hearts Lil’ Snotty since the beginning, and they never fail to outdo themselves with each new, provocative collection. Remember SDN’s voguing zombies of spring 2010, oh ye faint of heart mortals? This weekend, you’ll have a chance to bond with both the creative hoi polloi and fashion elite around Brooklyn and beyond to catch their latest shows as well as those by fashion iconoclasts from Desira Pesta to Uta Brauser and Uta Bekaia, Stephanie Hinson, Mark Tauriello and many more.
