Cody Critcheloe is taking his act-SSION all over North America starting later this month, the act will come to a pretty major town around you and your pretty major state (Florida you get skipped, probably because you’re been hilariously bad lately again).
An odd thing we found in the two press releases we received about the tour is that SSION was described as “hailing from the upper echelons of Manhattan’s downtown scene by way of Kansas City’s unexpected art world.” Just the mention of the specific borough of Manhattan instead of New York is some sort of borough shaming. And upper echelons? Was this written in 1989? We’ve asked a person who knows who said that the SSION (Cody Critcheloe) residence trajectory is more along the lines of: “SSION is from rural Kentucky, went to school in Kansas City, lived in LA for a bit, moved back to Kansas and lived between Kansas and Berlin then moved to Bushwick (that’s in Brooklyn). BUT NEVER ONCE LIVED IN MANHATTAN.”
Now that that’s settled let’s watch some videos and check out the tour dates in support of the new release Bent that’s out on Dovecote records on September 18th.
