2009 Mercury Prize Nominations Announced; Winner on September 8

The nominations for the 2009 Mercury Prize have just been announced and the surprise here is that there really isn’t a surprise as much-talked about artists such as Bat for Lashes and La Roux made the list. Winners will be announced on September 8. Elbow took home the honor last year for The Seldom Seen Kid.
