The show was sensational and everyone was in top form both on and off stage! Backstage gossip revealed that there had been an incident before the show at Terminal 5 when Anton Alfred Newcombe reprimanded Maya Caballero for slapping her mother, April Sandmeyer. "Did you just hit your mother!?", Anton inquired. Maya knew better than to answer, but everyone heard the loud smack when her hand came down hard on her mother's buttocks after she watched in horror as her mother locked lips with guitarist, Frankie Teardrop Emerson.

Mother and daughter were special guests seated on stage behind Anton throughout the show. (Maybe he stayed close to them to keep a watchful eye on them?) April claimed the kiss was just a friendly peck because she and Frankie were so happy to see each other (although witnesses say otherwise); whereas Maya said that she was utterly "grossed out" and "disgusted" by the uninhibited public display of affection.

Why Maya was so upset is another story. Apparently, there is a long complicated history of the mother's and daughter's relationships with BJM. Luckily, there wasn't a Terminal 5 massacre. All happily went off to the after party.

Who is this reviewer? He's a joke. I saw this band twice when they came through New York about a year and half ago, once with The Blood Brothers and then a smaller show in Brooklyn. They were so great live. Great pop songwriting and old country vibes. I loved their first CD, but I just downloaded the new one and its even better. I doubt this reviewer even listened to complete songs. Lyrically, there's not one "upbeat" song on the whole album. The music often times masks the darker side in the lyrics. "Fortunately" deals with death and loneliness and is about as for from bringing "listeners back to the fifties" as you can get. What fucking records from the 50's are you talking about? I'd love to see your ipod. Try listening again.

I really like the new album. Remember that each of the members have gone in many ways in their music in the intervening years, and though they have in some instances managed to find their old sound, the work contains some elements from both Love and Rockets and Peter's solo career. "Too Much 21st Century", for example, reminds me of Final Solution, much less than anything Bauhaus did together years back. And the digital sound of "The Dog's A Vapour" is more Love and Rocket's _Lift_ then Bauhaus.

If you've loved all or most of the music from the members of Bauhaus since they split in 1983, you'll like this album. If you didn't care for Love and Rockets or Peter Murphy solo, you'll still like half the album. If you've read this far, buy it.
