FADER Fort Sweats Our Lives Out of Us at the Ace Hotel, CMJ Day 5, 10.24.09

Where to begin with the sweat, the impossibly loud techno, pushy hipsters and the free SoCo? Hard to complain as it was a (free) shelter from the rain, and even harder to begrudge the free booze after a week of late nights and ringing ears at rock clubs across New York City.

AAM Party for CMJ 2009 at Music Hall of Williamsburg, 10.24.09

The deafening hype machine that surrounds Fanfarlo touched down at Bowery Ballroom last night, with press and attendees out en masse to catch the very last showcase appearance of one of the indisputably big, breakout names of the 2009 CMJ Music and Film Festival.

CMJ 2009 Day 1: The Selmanaires, Atlas Sound and Broadcast at Le Poisson Rouge, NYC, 10.20.09

The door stamp for Le Poisson Rouge last night was remarkably prescient, reading, simply, “Hercules.” Perfect, and kind of hilarious, considering it was for admittance into one of the most anticipated showcases, and toughest doors for badge holders of the annual herculean effort known as CMJ.
