At some point as a young teen in Royal Oak, Michigan, Dean Fertita wrote the phrase “Hello=Fire” on a scrap of paper during a computer class because it “sounded cool,” he surmises. Not because he actually knew what it meant back then as a middle schooler, although these days, Fertita can now certainly apply the fascinatingly ambiguous formula to a host of situations in life.
